Poor and needy people living in slums and street areas face many challenges on a daily basis. In these areas, mosquito-borne diseases like malaria are most prevalent due to lack of sanitation, open water, and limited health facilities. In such circumstances, the mosquito net distribution program run by RSKS India is a highly commendable and effective initiative to protect people from diseases.

The main objective of this program was to protect all the people living in slums, huts and on the streets from mosquito-borne diseases like malaria, dengue, chikungunya. Since most of the people in these communities depend on daily wages and it is difficult for them to afford treatment, prevention is the best solution.

The team of RSKS India visited various areas and identified needy families and distributed mosquito nets to them free of cost. In this distribution process, priority was given to women, children, elderly and disabled people so that the most vulnerable people could be protected first.

Along with the distribution of mosquito nets, an awareness session was also organised by the team, in which it was explained how malaria spreads, what are the measures to prevent mosquitoes, and how to use mosquito nets correctly. The local people listened to this information enthusiastically and supported the team.

This initiative had a direct impact on hundreds of families, who are now able to sleep safely under mosquito nets at night. The risk of diseases caused by mosquito bites to children and the elderly has reduced. This has also improved their health and the need to go to the hospital has also decreased.

Distribution of mosquito nets is not just giving a commodity, but it is giving the right to health security and dignity to the poor sections. This initiative of RSKS India shows that if the right resources and information are given at the right time, even the biggest problem can be avoided.

Such small efforts to prevent malaria and other mosquito-borne diseases lay the foundation for a healthy future in the society. It is the duty of all of us to become a part of this campaign and make people around us aware.
