Equality is not just an idea, but a fundamental right that every person should have without any discrimination. With this objective, RSKS India organized a powerful program in various schools in rural areas under the “We Are Equal” campaign, in which students were made aware about gender equality, human rights and social justice.

Even today, in many places in our society, girls and women are deprived of education, health, employment and decision-making rights. Similarly, boys are also mentally pressured to play traditional roles. The aim of the “We Are Equal” program is to break all these stereotypes and spread the message of equality in society. Through this awareness campaign, RSKS India tried to explain to the students that both boys and girls are the same and they should get equal opportunities, respect and freedom.

Special activities were organized in schools during the program. Students presented the idea of gender equality in a creative way through poster competition, rangoli, slogan writing, and stage presentations. Teachers and social workers also shared meaningful things on this subject, which made the students understand that society can progress only when every person gets equal status.

The special attraction of this program was the ‘Selfie with Equality’ campaign, in which students got their pictures taken with inspirational slogans in their hands. This was not only an interesting experience for the children, but also an effective medium to strengthen the feeling of equality within them.

This effort of RSKS India reached those parts of the society, where even today the education and life of children is affected due to gender discrimination. This campaign not only increased awareness among children, but teachers, parents and the local community also took the initiative to adopt this message of equality.

“We Are Equal” is not just a program, but a thought, a movement, which leads the coming generations towards a better, just and inclusive society. This effort of RSKS India is undoubtedly commendable, which made the children of rural India believe that they are all equal – in opportunities, rights and dreams.
