Sustainable Livelihoods Transforms a Family’s Future !!!

Dear Friends Namaste !

Radha’s Story….

My name is Radha, and I live in a small village with my husband and two children. We used to work as daily wage laborers, barely earning enough to feed ourselves. Our house was falling apart, and my children couldn’t attend school regularly because we couldn’t afford their expenses. I always dreamed of giving them a better life but didn’t know how.

Everything changed when I joined Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan’s Women Self-Help Group under their Empowering Women with Sustainable Livelihood project. The RSKS team selected me for their program and offered me a microloan to start my own business. After discussing it with my husband, we decided to start buffalo farming.

With the loan, I bought a buffalo, and the RSKS team trained me on how to take care of it. They taught me everything—from feeding and milking to managing its health. At first, it was challenging, but with their guidance, I soon got the hang of it. The buffalo started producing milk, which I began selling to local households and in the market.

Within a year, I saved enough to buy another buffalo, and now I own three buffaloes. My milk business is thriving, and I earn enough to take care of my family’s needs. My children are back in school, and we’ve even started repairing our house. This program has not only improved my financial condition but has also boosted my confidence. I no longer feel like a helpless laborer; I feel like a proud entrepreneur. I am deeply thankful to RSKS India for giving me this opportunity and for standing by me every step of the way. Their support has changed my life, and I will always be grateful.
