Working towards making women in rural areas self-reliant and aware, RSKS India organized an awareness program on the subject of Social Justice and Gender Equality in collaboration with women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs). The objective of this program was to sensitize women regarding their rights, equal opportunities, and their dignified participation within society.

Numerous women from the rural community participated enthusiastically in the program. During the event, the women were informed that gender equality is not merely limited to women’s rights; rather, it serves as the foundation of a society where both men and women can live with equal opportunities, dignity, and rights. Furthermore, while discussing the significance of social justice, the women were encouraged to actively participate in the fields of education, healthcare, employment, and decision-making processes.

Through various activities, group discussions, and interactive sessions, the RSKS India team provided the women with information regarding domestic violence, discrimination, child marriage, the right to education, and various government schemes. The program also highlighted that Self-Help Groups serve not only as a means of economic strengthening but also as a crucial platform for the social and psychological empowerment of women.

Sharing their experiences, the women expressed that such programs inspire them to understand their rights better and to move forward with confidence. Many women remarked that they have now begun to voice their opinions openly within their families and communities, and have become more conscious regarding the education of their children—particularly their daughters.

At the conclusion of the program, all the women pledged to uphold and promote the values ​​of equality, dignity, and justice within society. Such initiatives undertaken by RSKS India are playing a pivotal role in fostering positive change within rural communities while simultaneously empowering women and enabling them to become self-reliant.

This program has brought a new light of awareness, self-confidence, and social transformation into the lives of rural women.
