The ‘Laado Balika Center’—operated by RSKS India, an organization continuously working towards social change and the empowerment of girls in Rajasthan—has set an inspiring example. As part of a holistic development program for adolescent girls, a “Clean India Program” was organized; the girls participated enthusiastically, spreading the message of sanitation throughout the village.
Under this campaign, the adolescent girls undertook cleaning activities at the Panchayat Bhawan, Anganwadi Center, Community Hall, Health Center, Hathai (village gathering spots), and other public spaces. Their efforts not only rendered these locations clean but also raised awareness about sanitation among the villagers. The girls demonstrated that with strong resolve, even small steps can bring about significant change.
The objective of the program was not merely to clean, but also to impress upon society that sanitation is an integral part of our daily lives. The girls highlighted the benefits of a clean environment to the villagers—such as improved health, reduced incidence of disease, and a positive lifestyle. They appealed to the residents not to litter indiscriminately and to maintain a clean and green environment in their surroundings.
The enthusiasm and dedication displayed by the girls during this initiative were truly remarkable. They not only performed the work themselves but also inspired others to join the campaign. This fostered a positive atmosphere within the village, leading people to seriously recognize and appreciate the importance of sanitation.
This initiative by RSKS India demonstrates that when girls are provided with the right guidance and opportunities, they can become powerful agents of social change. Through the Lado Balika Center, efforts are being made to cultivate not only academic knowledge but also a sense of social responsibility and leadership qualities.
Ultimately, the “Clean India Program” conveyed the message that sanitation is not merely a one-day campaign, but a continuous process. If we all join hands and make a collective effort, we can transform our village, our society, and our nation into a clean, healthy, and green place.
