Cleanliness and environmental conservation have emerged as the most pressing needs of our times. It is only when the new generation embraces these values ​​that the foundation for a better and safer future can be laid. With this objective in mind, the “Clean India, Green India” program was organized for adolescent girls at the Laado Balika Center—operated by RSKS India—as part of its “Holistic Development Program.” A unique highlight of this initiative was the innovative attempt to raise social awareness through the medium of selfies.

The program commenced with a discussion on the importance of cleanliness and a green environment. The girls were taught that cleanliness is not merely a personal habit, but a social responsibility. Furthermore, they received information on topics such as the conservation of trees and plants, the reduction of plastic usage, and water conservation—all essential for maintaining a lush green environment.

The main attraction of the event was the “Selfie Campaign.” The girls took selfies featuring messages of cleanliness and greenery, striving to convey a positive message to society by sharing them. These selfies clearly reflected themes such as clean surroundings, tree planting, and general hygiene. This initiative proved to be a modern and effective method for spreading awareness among the youth.

A palpable sense of enthusiasm was observed among the girls throughout the program. They not only participated actively but also shared their thoughts and experiences. Many girls pledged to contribute toward keeping their homes, schools, and surrounding areas clean, and resolved to inspire others to do the same.

This initiative by RSKS India demonstrates that if adolescent girls are provided with the right guidance and a suitable platform, they can play a pivotal role in bringing about social change. The “Clean India, Green India” program served to strengthen the girls’ sense of responsibility, awareness, and leadership capabilities.
