Dear Reader Namaste!
Many Greetings from RSKS India….
Women living in rural areas are a strong foundation of society. Their development paves the way for the progress of not only their families but also the entire community. However, rural women often face challenges such as lack of resources, lack of information, social barriers, and limited access to opportunities. Addressing these challenges, RSKS India organized a “Primary Orientation and Capacity Building Program” for women in rural areas. The program aimed to provide women with information, skills, and confidence so they can advance and empower themselves in various areas of their lives.
Efforts to Connect Women The program began with a dialogue with the women. The trainers sought to understand their daily challenges, needs, and aspirations. Many women openly expressed their struggles with lack of economic opportunities, social hesitation, family pressure, and a lack of awareness. In such an environment, it becomes difficult for them to access any kind of information or training. The program provided them with a safe and supportive platform where they could not only learn but also express themselves openly.
Primary Orientation: Expanding Basic Knowledge
In the session, women were provided with detailed information on various important topics, such as:
Women’s Rights and Legal Protection
Health, Nutrition, and Sanitation
Gender Equality and Social Equality
Self-Reliance and Economic Opportunity
Personality Development and Leadership
The purpose of these discussions was to develop in women an understanding of their own worth, potential, and value. They were told that awareness is the first step to change, and expanding knowledge empowers them to move forward.
Capacity Building: Developing Skills and Self-Confidence
The most important part of the program was capacity-building activities. Women were trained on how to:
assess their own capabilities
learn new skills,
participate in community leadership,
start small-scale income-generating activities,
and make confident decisions.
Many women learned for the first time that they too could be part of a group, organization, or economic activity. They were shown small examples of how rural women can become economically independent through self-help groups, self-employment, handicrafts, agriculture-based work, and home-based industries.
Awareness and the Beginning of Change in Women
By the end of the program, a clear positive change was visible in the women. They appeared more confident, aware, and active than before. Many women reported having a better understanding of their rights, health, and prospects. A desire for change was awakened within them, and they resolved to chart a new course in their lives.
A Step Towards Positive Change in Society
This program by RSKS India was not limited to providing information to women, but also became a means of real change in their lives. Empowering rural women is empowering society. Such efforts make them aware of their rights, economically strong, and socially self-reliant.
This initiative is certainly an inspiring and commendable step towards a brighter future for rural women.
