Dear Reader Namaste!
Many Greetings from RSKS India….
In India, an agricultural country, farmers are considered the backbone of the nation. Poor farmers living especially in rural areas are still forced to live a tough life due to lack of resources. In such a situation, an important and visionary initiative was taken by Rajasthan Samagra Kalyan Sansthan — free distribution of fruit plants to poor farmers. This step will not only empower their livelihood, but will also make the environment greener.
The institute went to selected rural areas and distributed fruit plants like mango, guava, lemon, amla etc. to small, marginal and economically weak farmers. The main objective of this scheme was to provide a source of long-term income to the farmers. These plants will bear fruits over time, so that farmers will not only be able to get fruits for their own use, but will also be able to reap economic benefits by selling them in the market.
Fruit plants bear fruits for a long time once planted. This will gradually bring stability in the income of farmers and they will be able to become self-reliant. This step will help in improving their economic condition, giving them an opportunity to break out of the cycle of debt and poverty.
This initiative is not only beneficial economically but also from an environmental point of view. Fruit trees clean the atmosphere by absorbing carbon dioxide, prevent soil erosion and also help in water conservation. This will make the environment of the rural area more healthy and balanced.
This initiative has generated enthusiasm and new hope among the farmers. They are considering this assistance not just a plant but the foundation of their future. Many farmers said that this is the first time in their lives that an organization has provided them such a useful and beneficial resource for free.
This effort of Rajasthan Samagra Kalyan Sansthan is an example of how small actions can bring about a big change in the society. When the root of the society – that is, the farmer – is strong, only then the foundation of the country will be strong. We should also cooperate in such initiatives and reach the seeds of Green Revolution to as many farmers as possible.
Distribution of fruit plants is not just an agricultural assistance but a confluence of economy, environment and social welfare. This initiative is a positive step towards helping poor farmers live a respectable life. We should promote such schemes so that every farmer’s courtyard can be filled with greenery and prosperity.
The institute also took special care in the selection of plants. Fruit plants were distributed keeping in mind the climate of each region, the quality of the soil and the needs of the farmers. This increases the chances of survival of the plants and by getting proper guidance, farmers are able to take care of them properly.
Just giving plants is not enough, hence the institute also provided training and guidance to the farmers related to plant care, fertilizer-water, pest control and fruit production. This helped the farmers to become self-reliant and they could understand that a small plant can become a permanent source of their income in the coming years.
