Dear Friends Namaste!
My name is Poornima, and I am 13 years old. I live in a slum near the city, and life here can be challenging for many of us. In our community, a lot of children do not go to school, which means they miss out on learning important things about their health and nutrition. Many children in our slum are unaware of the importance of vitamins and a healthy diet, which can lead to various health issues.
One day, something remarkable happened in our slum—Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan (RSKS India) organized a Vitamins Awareness Camp for all the children in our community. I was curious and excited to learn about vitamins and healthy eating because these were things we weren’t taught about often.
At the camp, the RSKS team introduced us to different types of vitamins and their benefits for our bodies. They explained how vitamins help us stay healthy and strong, and how we can get them from different foods. It was an eye-opening experience for many of us, as we learned how important it is to have a balanced diet.
The RSKS team used fun and engaging methods to teach us about nutrition. They showed us pictures of various foods and explained which vitamins they contain. We learned about fruits and vegetables, dairy products, grains, and proteins. They also talked about the importance of drinking clean water and avoiding unhealthy snacks.
At the end of the camp, RSKS provided all the slum children with a healthy meal that was rich in vitamins. The meal included fresh fruits, vegetables, and other nutritious foods. It was a special treat for us, and everyone enjoyed the delicious and healthy meal. The camp not only taught us about the importance of vitamins and a healthy diet, but it also inspired us to make better choices when it comes to our meals. I now understand the need to include a variety of foods in my diet to get all the necessary vitamins. My friends and I have been sharing what we learned with our families, encouraging them to try new foods and eat healthier.
