It has been observed in rural areas that the violence cases against female happens more in rural areas. It happens due to lack of awareness in the rural areas and also because of male dominated society. It’s not like it doesn’t happen in cities but it’s like the most cases are seen in rural areas. In rural areas, the girls and boys at schools do not get the knowledge of End Gender Based Violence and because of this many problems arises in future as if the children will taught in their schools about the End Gender Based Violence then surely a bright future for all of them and for all of us can be achieved.
In order to create a better future and Eradicate Gender Based Violence, RSKS India organized a “End Gender Based Violence program” at 17 rural schools and with approx 700 children. Under this program, many activities were planned and executed like making these children understand through flipcharts, group discussion, role play, workshops etc. This was done with the support of school administration, local administration and the children itself. All the children participated in all the activities organized under this program and got awareness about End Gender Based Violence. In this program, the bad things or we could say the social evils prevailing in the sociaty because of Gender based violence were told to these children and also they were told to raise voice against anything bad. All these children took oath at the end of the program that they will surely contribute their part towards ending the gender based violence in their area.
RSKS India’s efforts will help in changing the mindset of the children and also letting these children know about the adverse effects of gender based violence. Also the children got to know about the benefits of not doing gender based violence. These children are the future of the nation so if they would contribute their part towards the right thing then in future the nation will be social evils free. The school administration, local administration and the children itself praised the program and also everyone said that this will be a new start in our village against the gender based violence. The children’s oath is a proof that they will make sure that no such social evils should prevail in their area and if it happens then they know what to do. This program not only led to increase in the knowledge of these children, it also led to mind development of these children and also not to think this society as male dominated society and always treat every gender equally. This program is itself a step towards End Gender Based Violence.
