The holistic development of children is not limited to formal education alone; it is equally essential to cultivate good values, discipline, moral principles, and positive behavior in their lives. Positive habits formed during childhood strengthen a child’s personality and guide them toward becoming responsible, sensitive, and civilized citizens. With this objective in mind, the Rajasthan Samagrah Kalyan Sansthan organized a one-day ‘Discipline and Values Camp’ for children living in streets, slums, and shantytown areas. The primary goal of this camp was to introduce children to the importance of leading a simple, decent, and disciplined life, and to foster good behavioral habits.
During the camp, the significance of discipline and values was explained to the children through simple language and engaging activities. They learned that embracing discipline enables an individual to complete tasks on time and progress toward their goals. Punctuality, maintaining cleanliness, respecting elders, showing affection toward younger ones, helping others, and treating everyone with courtesy are all hallmarks of good values. The children were also taught that leading a decent life does not require expensive resources or special amenities; rather, it calls for a positive mindset, honesty, a sense of responsibility, and constructive behavior.
To make the program both enjoyable and impactful, various games and activities were organized. The children participated with great enthusiasm, collaborating with one another to complete the tasks. Through these games, they learned about mutual cooperation, team spirit, patience, unity, adherence to rules, and how to accept both victory and defeat with a positive attitude. These activities provided the children with an opportunity to showcase their talents, participate freely, and work together as a group. In this way, alongside the fun, the children gained experience in acquiring practical qualities essential for life.
During the camp, the children were also sensitized to the importance of hygiene and personal cleanliness. They were taught good habits such as bathing regularly, wearing clean clothes, washing their hands before meals and after using the toilet, keeping their surroundings clean, and maintaining an organized space for their belongings. Furthermore, the children were encouraged to resolve conflicts through dialogue rather than fighting, to respect the feelings of others, and to assist peers who are in need. By adopting these simple habits, children can bring positive changes to their daily lives.
Rajasthan Samagrah Kalyan Sansthan believes that every child should have equal opportunities to learn, grow, and build a better future. Such camps prove particularly beneficial for children living in streets, slums, and shanty settlements, as they provide not only education but also insights into life skills, moral values, and social conduct.
