Effective communication and collaboration among schools, teachers, and parents are crucial for ensuring the continuity and effectiveness of girls’ education. When parents actively engage with matters concerning their daughters’ studies and academic growth, the girls receive the encouragement and support they need for their education. With this objective in mind, a Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) was organized for the parents and guardians of all girls attending the ‘Lado Balika Center,’ run by the Rajasthan Samagrah Kalyan Sansthan (RSKS India). The primary aim of the meeting was to establish direct dialogue with parents and to share information and ideas regarding key aspects of the girls’ education.
During the PTM, teachers from the Laado Balika Center engaged in open conversations with the parents. They gathered information about the girls’ education and sought to understand how much time the girls dedicate to studying at home, the challenges they face in their studies, and the support they receive from their families. Parents were also given the opportunity to express their views and share their own experiences regarding their daughters’ education.
The meeting also served to raise awareness among parents about the importance of girls’ education. It was emphasized that a girl’s education is not limited to school attendance; a positive home environment plays a vital role in her learning and development. If parents make time for their daughters’ studies, listen to them, and offer encouragement, it can boost the girls’ self-confidence and motivate them to take their education more seriously. Family support inspires girls to move forward toward achieving their future dreams and goals.
Discussions during the PTM also covered topics such as the girls’ regular attendance and educational progress. Parents were encouraged to send their daughters to the Laado Balika Center regularly and to support them in maintaining an interest in their studies. Through dialogue between female teachers and parents, the needs of the girls were understood, and possibilities for better collaboration regarding their educational development were explored.
A key aspect of such dialogue programs is that they strengthen the bond of trust and cooperation between parents and teachers. Teachers can inform parents about the girls’ education and center-related activities, while parents can share insights regarding their daughters’ home and social environments. This dialogue between the two parties can help advance the girls’ education more effectively.
Through the Laado Balika Center, RSKS India is continuously striving to connect girls with education and foster their holistic development. Alongside academics, the organization’s efforts focus on building self-confidence, life skills, and leadership qualities in the girls, as well as raising awareness about their rights. Parental participation is essential to making these efforts effective.
This Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) was not merely a meeting; it was an opportunity to strengthen the partnership between families and teachers regarding the girls’ education. The dialogue with parents helps in understanding how families and communities can support the advancement of the girls’ education. When teachers and parents collaborate to create a positive environment for the girls’ education, opportunities for their learning and growth are significantly enhanced.
Rajasthan Samagrah Kalyan Sansthan (RSKS India) strives to ensure that every girl has the opportunity to receive an education and move forward toward realizing her dreams. The PTM held at the Laado Balika Center was a meaningful initiative aimed at increasing parental participation, strengthening awareness about education, and fostering collective efforts for the girls’ better future. When teachers, parents, and the community move forward together on this educational journey, the foundation for a strong and better future for the girls is laid.
