Dear Reader Namaste!
Many Greetings from RSKS India….
Diwali—a festival of joy, enthusiasm, and light—is when every home is lit with lamps, every face is filled with smiles, and every heart is filled with hope. But in the corners of society where poverty and deprivation prevail, there are many innocent faces who have never truly experienced the light of a lamp in their small huts. With the aim of bringing smiles to the faces of these underprivileged children, Rajasthan Samagra Kalyan Sansthan (RSKS India) made this Diwali extra special.
The organization’s workers celebrated “Diwali Utsav” with poor children and families living in various slums, huts, and roadside settlements in Ajmer. The main objective of this program was to ensure that no child feels alone or deprived during this festival. New clothes, sweets, candles, lamps, and firecrackers were distributed to the children during the program. When these gifts reached the hands of those innocent children, the genuine and innocent smiles on their faces became the biggest success of the program.
The program began with the lighting of lamps. Volunteers explained to the children the significance of Diwali—how this festival symbolizes not just lighting up homes, but also lighting the lamp of hope and love in hearts. The children decorated their huts with colorful lamps, distributed sweets, and celebrated with songs and music. When little hands smiled while lighting the lamps, it felt as if a true Diwali was being celebrated here.
During the program, volunteers also spread the message of cleanliness and safety among the children. They were told to be careful while lighting firecrackers and not harm the environment. They were also encouraged to keep their surroundings clean and beautiful, as cleanliness is an important way to welcome Goddess Lakshmi.
This effort by RSKS India sent a beautiful message to society—that the true joy of a festival is found when we share it with others. For these poor and underprivileged children, this Diwali experience became a lifelong memory. Many of them recounted wearing new clothes for the first time, lighting diyas with their own hands for the first time, and experiencing the joy of having sweets for the first time.
On this occasion, representatives from the organization said, “Our aim is not just to distribute goods, but to instill a sense of self-confidence, belonging, and happiness in these children. Society can only become progressive when every section of society feels included.
” At the end of the Diwali celebration, the children gave a short performance, performing dances and songs on the theme of “From Darkness to Light.” Their innocent voices and laughter filled the entire atmosphere. The eyes of all the volunteers and visitors present were filled with joy and emotion. This event reminded us that the most beautiful form of humanity is seen when we become a ray of light in someone’s life. This Diwali, RSKS India did just that—illuminating the faces of those who had lived in darkness.
This is the true meaning of Diwali—dispelling darkness, awakening hope, and spreading love. When we bring joy to others, our own light grows even brighter. Thus, RSKS India not only lit lamps, but also ignited the flame of hope in hundreds of innocent hearts.
