Education is the foundation of any child’s life, but even today thousands of girls in our society are unable to go to school due to poverty, social discrimination, and lack of resources. In such a situation, special schools run by RSKS India have emerged as a new ray of hope for education for those deprived girls. Recently, many girls got admission in these schools, which has given a new direction to their lives.

This effort of RSKS India is for those girls who could never see the door of the school due to some reason. These girls come from slums, poor settlements and rural areas, where education is still not given priority. In such a situation, this school not only gives them literacy, but also shows the path of self-respect, confidence and independent thinking.

To get the girls admitted to the school, the team of RSKS India conducted a door-to-door survey, communicated with the parents and explained to them the importance of girl education. This dialogue inspired the families to give their daughters an opportunity for education as well.

There was a festive atmosphere in the school on the day of admission. Little girls came to school in new clothes, with dreams in their eyes and smiles on their faces. They were welcomed with rangoli, clapping and sweets.

Sanskaar and safety along with education

This school run by RSKS is not just a place of study, but it is a safe and sensitive environment where girls are taught:

• Basic education (Hindi, Maths, Environment)

• Life skills (Health, Hygiene, Communication skills)

• Moral values and self-defense

• Sports, arts and creative activities

so that they can develop all-round.

Response of the girls

A 9-year-old girl Radhika said, “I never thought that I would get to go to school. Now I want to become a teacher.” Such innocent and true feelings show the success of this initiative.

Community participation

Along with admission in the school, the cooperation of the local community was also commendable. Many parents now want to come forward and educate their children, which clearly shows the change in social thinking.

This school run by RSKS India is the gateway to dreams for underprivileged girls. This initiative shows that if the right direction and opportunity is provided, no child can be deprived of education.

We should also support such efforts and together ensure that every girl gets education, opportunities and can give wings to her dreams.
