My name is Savita Devi and I live in a small village near Pisangon. Our family’s financial condition was weak from the beginning. It was difficult to even meet the daily needs. It became very challenging for me to manage children’s education, household expenses and other responsibilities.

Although the situation was difficult, I never lost courage. My husband always supported me, and this became my biggest strength. We both thought together what work should be done so that we can earn some income every day. Then I decided that I would set up a small vegetable cart in the village market.

In the beginning, I was very scared, because I had never done such work before. But my husband encouraged me and helped me to set up the cart. I started buying fresh and good quality vegetables and started selling them by arranging them on the cart in a neat and clean manner.

Gradually, people of the village started buying vegetables from me because they found the vegetables from my cart fresh and cheap. In a few months, my cart started gaining recognition in the market and my income also increased. With this income, I started managing the household expenses and also started paying attention to the children’s education.

Now the situation is such that I am able to fulfill the financial needs of my family. Not only is all the household work going on smoothly, but now my confidence has also increased a lot. I am proud that I have changed the direction of my life with my efforts and the support of my husband.

In this entire journey, I realized that if there is courage and support, then any difficult path can be crossed. I want other women like me to come forward, and start any small work with confidence in themselves. Every work done with hard work and dedication definitely pays off one day.

Today I am happy that I took the first step to improve the life of my family. This story of mine is a message for all those women who have given up on circumstances – that change is possible, you just have to start.
