Dear Friends Namaste !
RSKS India launched the “Education For Every Rural Girls” project to support the education of rural girls, especially during the harsh winter season. As part of the project, 1025 rural school girls from 42 different rural schools were provided with warm jackets to help them cope with the cold temperatures. These girls were carefully selected through a door-to-door baseline survey, ensuring that the most vulnerable girls in need of warm clothing were identified. The jackets were distributed with the aim to ensure that these girls could attend school without the fear of falling ill due to the cold weather. During the distribution, the RSKS team also educated the girls on how to protect themselves from the harsh winter. The team shared practical tips on wearing layered clothing, staying active, and using warm accessories to stay healthy during the colder months.
After the distribution, the RSKS team visited the girls’ homes to collect feedback from the parents. This helped the team understand the impact of the jackets and the overall satisfaction of the families involved. The “Education For Every Rural Girls” project has had a significant positive impact on the girls and their families. The distribution of warm jackets has provided the girls with the necessary protection against the harsh winter, allowing them to attend school regularly without being affected by the cold. This has helped ensure that the girls’ education continues uninterrupted, even during the colder months.
By protecting the girls from the cold, the program has also improved their health and well-being. Before receiving the jackets, many of these girls were at risk of falling ill, which could cause them to miss school and hinder their education. With the jackets, the girls are now better equipped to face the cold, stay healthy, and continue their studies without any interruptions. The feedback collected from parents showed that they were extremely appreciative of the support provided by RSKS. The parents were happy to see that their children could now go to school without worrying about the cold, which allowed them to focus on their education. Overall, the program has improved the access to education for rural girls, ensuring that they can attend school even during the winter months. It has also increased awareness among the girls and their families about the importance of staying warm and healthy during the winter. This initiative has not only supported the girls’ education but also helped strengthen the relationship between the community and RSKS by addressing their immediate needs in a thoughtful and meaningful way.
