Beauty parlour is a very prominent place for girls and women but it is also very helpful way of business for the girls and women. In this era when employment of many people got snatched away, learning a skill in order to have own financial resources is a very good option. The girls and women are always thinking that how they could help their family financially but are unable to as they are told to remain at house only and are not sent out of the village to earn. This is not at all a good thing because it destroys the feeling of the girl and women as they are forced to stay at home only and do home activities.
In order to remove the chain from the legs of these young women and girls, RSKS India organized 3 months beauty parlour training for the women and girls in which around 25 young girls and women enrolled their name. RSKS India team members selected these girls and women through the baseline survey and then these women were taught theoretically as well as practically by the master trainer of the organization. In this training, to increase the confidence and morale of the trainees, RSKS India organized many activities like sports, bridal makeup, fashion show, etc in which all the trainees participated enthusiastically. This training was organized in village where the need of this training was very much as these 25 young women and girls really wanted to support their family financially.
The beauty parlour training program of RSKS India changed the lives of the young women and girls as it taught a new skill to these women and girls through which they are able to earn for themselves and their family. Now these girls know and can do all the beauty parlour activities like hair spa, hair cutting, nail art etc with efficient and effective ways. These women and girls are able to earn while sitting at home and have become example for other girls and women of the area. These women and girls do get the appreciation of many people and a strong message is being delivered in the conservative thinking society that women and girls could do anything. This program is very successful towards women empowerment through sustainable livelihood.
