School going children needs all the school materials as they need to maintain the discipline at the school and this is the reason why there is a dress code for every children at the school. Still there are many rural girl children who are unable to follow the proper dress code and the reason behind it are many but the most common one is that their parents are unable to purchase new school dress because of their low financial income. Because of this many times the rural school girls are not regular at school as they feel ashamed to go to school without a proper dress.
In this context, RSKS India organized Winter Uniform, Shoes and Water bottle distribution program. The Warm Dress, Shoes and Water bottle distribution program was organized at 20 different rural schools where the baseline survey was done earlier in which all of these girls who were in need of the school dress and shoes were identified by the RSKS team by doing door to door survey. The Warm Dress, Shoes and Water bottle were provided to 100 rural school girls so that they could come regular at school without feeling ashamed of not having school dress. The school girls were then also told to drink plenty of water from the water bottle in the coming summers so that their body would not get dehydrated. After this the feedback work was also done by the RSKS team by going door to door at the beneficiary’s girl children house.
The Warm Dress, Shoes and Water bottle distribution program was being appreciated by the whole school administration as well as by the parents of the girl children. The school girl children were also very happy after getting Warm Dress, Shoes and Water bottle for themselves. This warm school dress would also protect these girls from the harsh winter and they would not fall sick. The parents of these rural school girl children thanked the RSKS team and all the people behind this program during the feedback work and they also told that it is a dream come true for them as they also wanted to purchase new dress for their children but were unable to do so due to lack of financial resources.
