Heena was born and raised in Ajmer. Her parents, both daily wage laborers, worked hard to provide for their family’s basic needs. Heena knew from a young age that she would have to work hard to make a better life for herself and her family. When Heena was 21, RSKS India team members conducted a baseline survey in her community. During the survey, they discovered that Heena had a keen interest in the beauty industry. She was always experimenting with makeup and hairstyles on her friends and family.

The team members suggested that Heena enroll in the Beautician Vocational Education school run by RSKS India. They explained to her that the program would provide her with the necessary skills and knowledge to start her own beauty business. Heena jumped at the opportunity and enrolled in the program. She was thrilled to learn about the different beauty treatments and techniques, such as facial treatments, hair styling, and makeup application. She attended daily 3.5 hours of practical sessions and 1.5 hours of theoretical sessions for three months.

Despite the challenges of balancing school and helping her family with their daily needs, Heena persevered. She was determined to finish the program and start her own beauty business.
After graduating from the program, Heena started her own beauty parlour shop at her home. She worked hard to attract clients by offering quality services at affordable prices. Her clients were impressed with her skills and soon her business started to grow. With the profits from her business, Heena was able to help her family financially. She was proud to be able to contribute to their household income and to help her younger siblings with their education.

Today, Heena’s beauty business is thriving. She has expanded her services to include bridal makeup and hairstyling, and she has even hired an assistant to help her with her growing client base. She is grateful to RSKS India for giving her the opportunity to pursue her passion and start her own business.
